THE LINDSAY LODGE

The Lindsay Restaurant is right on the Applegate River serving up fantastic dishes and wonderful craft cocktails. They love supporting local, sourcing from nearby farms, bakeries and wineries. The day we went it was sunny with a slight breeze, perfect to enjoy every bite and sip on their outdoor patio overlooking the Applegate River.

For starters we had their Focaccia with Rosemary & Sicilian Oil, and the Nashville Style Chicken Wings. The Focaccia was the perfect density to soak up the delicious oil and rosemary that had just a hint of vinegary tartness. The chicken wings were bigger than your average wing appetizer, nice and meaty, and were perfectly seasoned topped with delicious house-pickled onions. We had their Kale Caesar (I'm a sucker for kale salads) and Butter Lettuce Salad and both were very fresh while being very different from one another. I liked the Kale Caesar because of its crispy, crunchy texture and Gary enjoyed the Butter Lettuce because of the goddess dressing and avocado that gave it a creamy silkiness that paired well with the delicate butter lettuce.

For our entrees I had the Grilled Half Chicken with Apple Mostarda, Gary had the Flat Iron Steak with Chimichurri, Ilias has the Bucatini with Oyster Mushrooms and Arugula Pesto, Olivia had the Red Oak Salmon with Couscous and Butternut Squash Confit. We all really enjoyed our meals, the flavors where fantastic, and the side dishes went well with the proteins.

We did finish off with dessert and all of them were delicious but our favorite was the Banoffee Pudding, banana pudding layered wwith a caramelly toffee suce and crumble, and cookies to dip. So good!

Their ambience is nice while being just the right amount of relaxed. One of our favorite things about their location is that it feels like you are on a mini vacation. Only twenty five minutes from Medford or Grants Pass, we get to disconnect (cell service is spotty) and relax in our Southern Oregon beauty.
